Dr. Esteban Barajas is a graduate from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, originally from the suburbs of Chicago. He initially acquired an interest in veterinary medicine by helping his grandfathers tend to their dairy herds in Mexico. As he progressed through his education, he developed an interest in exotic animal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
After graduation, he worked at a general practice outside of Detroit, where he had the opportunity to work with all types of small animal and exotics patients. He loves working with all animals, but especially loves working with reptiles.
He currently shares a home with Link, an Alaskan Malamute, Darmani, a Native American Indian Dog, Piccolo, a Boa Constrictor, and Hershey, a Crested Gecko. In his spare time he likes playing video games, binge watching Netflix, exploring new places to eat, going out on his kayak, and exploring in the woods. He is also fluent in Spanish.
