Joanna is a 4th year veterinary student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is originally from Kalamazoo, MI and graduated with a degree in Biology from Michigan State University. Joanna knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. Earning her doctorate is both a major personal accomplishment and a way to honor her family. While in vet school, she founded the Association of Asian Veterinary Medical Professionals, UW-Madison chapter. She is most interested in exotics companion animal medicine, wildlife rehabilitation, and small animal medicine.
Joanna and her fiancé, Sam, have 2 cats (Obi-wan and Anakin), leopard geckos, a Western Hognose snake, and a Hog Island Boa. In her free time Joanna likes to craft, play board games, go to the climbing gym, and go backpacking.
